Have you known desire?
The kind that burns,
Rages,
Never dissipates,
Becoming only stronger,
More unbearable?
The kind,
That never lets you rest,
But drives you mad
Until nothing
Is left in you,
But a scorched desert?
Have you known desire?
Real, vicious,
Vile, storm-like,
Relentless,
Unforgiving,
Merciless?
The kind that
Leaves you
Groveling,
Pleading,
Imploring,
Begging?
Desire that makes you
Cry,
Yearn,
Crave,
Hunger,
For a touch?
Desire
Destroying,
Destructing,
Dementing,
Demeaning,
Degrading….
So sinful,
Unholy,
Outrageous,
Scandalous,
Profane,
Godless….
That you keep secretly
Wishing for more?…
"Have you ever?" is an exciting and intoxicating piece of writing. I could imagine it as a the prefatory poem to a passionate novel. I remember what it felt like to be so in love that being separated from the woman I married was impossible and unbearable for both of us. So now we have four grandchildren!!
Well, that leaves me wanting more..
