I'll follow you
That was inspired by two things. A story of a RAF pilot, who died in August 1944, and a song by Shinedown. He was Scottish, as many pilots during that time. It is a valentine to captain McKechnie.
Hold on.
I won't back down.
I'll follow you there.
Through the memory lanes,
Through the skies
And space,
I'll follow you,
Silver wings.
Hold on.
Buckle down.
We're going right there.
Through the night,
Through the flac,
And the flares,
We got you,
Gu sìorraidh is gu brà th*.
Hold on,
Don't let go,
I will keep you close,
In the fire,
In the night,
And the fear,
Don't you give up,
Silver wings.
Hold on,
Buckle up,
Cause we're going down
Through the night,
In the dark,
In blinding white lights
Falling from
Foreign skies.
Hold on,
Stay with me,
And don't close your eyes,
I'll keep you-
I promise, mo chridhe**.
I will follow you,
Down
Through the foreign skies.
Hold on
Buckle up,
We are almost done
And nothing can keep us safe.
Remember, mo chridhe,
My love stays with you,
I got you...
Gu sìorraidh...
*forever and always (Scottish Gaelic)
