I shall be your Orpheus
Descending a thousand stairs,
Crossing miles and miles
To get to you.
Mine shall be the voice
That raises you
And drags you up
To get you out of Hades.
Mine shall be the torch
That lights up the way
Through and upwards
Mind's oblivion.
I shall raise the eternity
And make it crumble
Before your eyes
To break you free.
Call out for me
From the depth of Styx,
Let me follow
The voice of the wronged,
The voice of the forgotten,
The voice of the voiceless
Drowned in the darkness
By the ignorant.
Mine shall be the voice
That answers
In the death of night,
By the midnight hour.
Trust me,
Follow me - for I am Orpheus,
And I know the way
From the realm of the dead.
Take my voice
If you need one,
Take my heart,
If you lack the courage:
I shall bring you back.
If I may, I am in the midst of writing a play that features a character drenched in the archetype that is Persephone. I find that this is not coincidental. I am currently reading Tennessee Williams' Orpheus Descending, too. Isn't it odd that like things seem to seek each other out? Resonance or attraction or something.
Love the contrapasso of "...I shall raise the eternity, and make it crumble." A passage allowing a ride up and down, but a ride recognizable...we all know of such situations, where one contradicts the other, no?
You are a tireless worker! I love that! Send me some of that energy, ok?
Peace and Power!
